AMD will showcase graphics upgrades at GDC 2022
If some players are looking forward to FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0, they should lower their expectations. While AMD has previously mentioned that it will continue to develop FidelityFX Super Resolution and provide a new version at some point, now is not the time. At present, there is still about half a year before the release of the RDNA 3 architecture, and AMD may update it with the new GPU. FidelityFX Super Resolution 1.0 was quite successful as AMD opened the source code to all game developers. There is already a lot of gaming adoption, but the next pressure comes not only from NVIDIA’s DLSS but also from Intel’s XeSS.
AMD also has a technology called Radeon Super Resolution (RSR), which is an evolved version of the algorithm from FidelityFX Super Resolution 1.0, built into the driver level, only RDNA and RDNA 2 architecture GPUs can support it, but AMD has not confirmed when it will be available.
