AMD Radeon RX 6800S benchmark result leaked

AMD launched the Radeon RX 6000S series GPUs at CES 2022, including the Radeon RX 6800S/RX 6700S/6600S. Based on the original Radeon RX 6000M series, optimized for the power requirements of thin and light notebooks, give full play to the performance and energy efficiency advantages of the RDNA 2 architecture, allowing thin and light devices to experience high refresh rate games smoothly.

Due to the size and power limitations of the device, and some specifications have also been changed, the performance of the Radeon RX 6000S series will be worse than that of the Radeon RX 6000M series, and it also causes AMD’s naming on mobile platforms to be very confusing. The Radeon RX 6800S has 32 groups of CUs, the game clock is 1975 MHz, the infinite cache is 32MB, it is equipped with 8GB of GDDR6 memory, the memory bandwidth is 256 GB/s, and the FP32 performance is 11.78 TFLOPs; the Radeon RX 6800M has 40 groups of CUs, the game clock is 2300 MHz, the unlimited cache is 96MB, it is equipped with 12GB of GDDR6 video memory, the memory bandwidth is 384 GB/s, and the FP32 performance is 9.22 TFLOPs. The TDP of the “S” suffix is 100W, while the TDP of the “M” suffix does not exceed 145W.

Recently, the ROG Magic 14 gaming notebook appeared in the Geekbench 5 OpenCL benchmark, and it is equipped with a combination of AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS and Radeon RX 6800S. The system shows that the Radeon RX 6800S scored 82734, while the Radeon RX 6800M scored 93373, a difference of 11%.

AMD’s naming of mobile platforms is indeed a bit confusing, like Radeon RX 6800S, Radeon RX 6800M, and Radeon RX 6850M XT, three products with similar names, most people don’t understand the difference, which can confuse consumers when shopping.
