AMD launches Instinct MI210 accelerator

AMD Instinct 200 Series Accelerators Add a New Lineup, AMD today announced the official release of the AMD Instinct ecosystem, including the new AMD Instinct MI210 accelerator, the AMD Instinct MI210 is a relatively entry-level specification in the AMD Instinct 200 series, so this time it can achieve the shape of a PCIe expansion card.

AMD Instinct MI210 accelerator is based on AMD CDNA 2 architecture, with 104 computing units, a total of 6656 stream processors, equipped with 64GB of HBM2e ECC memory, and the memory bandwidth can reach 1.6 TB/sec. The peak performance of FP64|FP32 Vector of AMD Instinct MI210 can reach 22.6 TF, the peak performance of FP64|FP32 Matrix can reach 45.3 TF, the peak performance of FP16|bf16 can reach 181.0 TF, and the peak performance of INT8 can reach 181.0 TOPS.

The AMD Instinct MI200 family of accelerators is designed to power the exploration of exascale-scale (exascale) systems to help researchers, scientists, and engineers solve pressing challenges ranging from climate change to vaccine research. AMD said the Instinct MI210 is designed to provide Exascale-class technology for customers who require superior HPC and AI performance in the PCIe form factor.
