AMD’s FSR 2.0 technology has rejuvenated the old graphics cards of many players after its launch, and recently AMD has launched the FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.1 update, which has better performance in image quality. AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.1 has already been included in the latest update to Farming Simulator 22. AMD said that compared with FSR 2.0, 2.1 has a lot of improvements in image quality, the most important thing is to improve the problem of ghosting on the screen. This update includes:

  • To go into a little bit more detail, some of the improvements in FSR 2.1 include:
  • Adding motion vector divergence to diminish locked pixels, which can alleviate ghosting.
  • Improved disocclusion logic to improve upscaling quality in some disocclusion cases.
  • Improved upscaled output quality with the better color range and temporal stability.
  • Reactive Mask updates to alleviate ghosting issues on particles.
  • Composition and Transparency Mask updates to alleviate additional ghosting issues.
  • You can read about all these updates in more detail in our blog on GPUOpen.

As can be seen from the demo video, the rear of the farming vehicle is under FSR 2.0, and the red part will have a ghosting effect like a tail flame. However, in FSR 2.1, this kind of ghosting has been reduced a lot, and it looks more pleasing to the eye.

On the other hand, games that support FSR 2.0 are also slowly increasing. The 11 new FSR 2 games added today are Choo-Choo Charles, Cyberpunk 2077, Deep Rock Galactic, Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed, Miasma Chronicles, No One Survived, Project Haven, Scathe, Scorn, VEIN, and the smash hit Red Dead Redemption 2.
In addition, the development tools of FSR 2.1 are already available to developers on CPUOpen, and the FSR plug-ins in Unreal 4 and Unreal 5 engines have also been upgraded to FSR 2.1.
