A mysterious product called DG2MB appeared on Intel ARK
Intel will officially release its ARC series of discrete graphics cards on the 30th of this month. Of course, the first launch is the laptop version of the A370M. This is just an entry-level discrete graphics card for thin and light notebooks. It is based on the DG2-128EU GPU, and the graphics card specifications are not very high. The desktop version seems to wait until the second quarter, but now there is an interesting thing on the Intel ARK website called DG2MB, its product category is a graphics card, but from the name, it looks like a motherboard.
Igor Wallossek accessed Intel’s non-public ARK database, which can only be accessed by partners who have signed an NDA. Igorslab saw a thing called DG2MB from here. Although various data are marked on it, and the product category is also a graphics card, they still can’t figure out what it is. Its clock is targeted at 4GHz. At present, no GPU should be able to run at this speed. It is guessed that this DG2MB may refer to a motherboard with an independent GPU, so this speed should refer to the clock of the CPU, not the GPU.
If you understand it in this way, you can further explain the 200W TDP. After all, this TDP is only available on the desktop alone. It is said that the desktop DG2-512EU GPU has a TDP of 225W, and it is impossible for a mobile GPU to run to this wattage, and the heat dissipation of the notebook cannot be suppressed, so this 200W TDP should refer to the power consumption of the entire platform, including CPU, GPU and the power consumption of the PCH, which may even include memory and video memory.
