2021 MacBook Pro may increase Retina screen resolution

When Apple launched the Retina MacBook Pro in 2012, it was quite amazing, you must know that the Windows notebooks in the same period are still the 768p. So everyone was shocked when they saw Apple’s Retina screen, but after so many years, the MacBook series of notebooks did not further increase the screen resolution significantly. On the contrary, the screen resolution of Windows laptops increases rapidly, such as 2K and 4K screens are quite common. However, the upcoming 2021 MacBook Pro this year may usher in a larger resolution upgrade.

Since Apple has not yet launched a new generation of macOS Monterey this year, it is still in the beta testing stage, according to the latest findings of MacRumors, the resolution support of the new system has two new specifications, 3456*2234 and 3024*1964. Such strange numbers are generally Apple’s own products. For example, the latest iPhone 13 Pro Max uses 2778*1284, while the current 16-inch MacBook Pro is also an integer 3072*1920. So these two new resolutions are probably the new 16-inch and the long-rumored 14-inch MacBook Pro. Calculated by this size, the PPI of the new MacBook Pro will reach about 250, which can provide 2x Retina display zoom.

In addition to the increase in resolution, what everyone expects most of the new generation of MacBook Pro is that it will naturally be equipped with Apple’s new generation of Apple Silicon. Apple’s existing high-end professional-grade Macs still use Intel’s x86 processors, so this new release is likely to transition these high-end Macs to Apple’s own chips.

If there are no surprises, Apple should bring a new Mac launch conference next month, which is actually a lot of high-end Mac users have been waiting for a long time.
